Start of Project

So after about 10 yrs of telling Colleen's parents they should let me get their Jeep running, they finally said yes. I knew this particular Jeep was different but I really wasn't sure what I was getting into. A little backround: Franke (Colleen's dad) bought the Jeep in 1983. In 1986 he had to park the Jeep in the barn because Kim had Pat (Colleen's brother) and couldn't put both the kids in the truck because it was a 2-seater. The truck sat in their barn from 1986 to June 25th, 2010 when I dragged it out of the barn. Overall the truck looks very good, given the fact it is almost 30 yrs old. It has 19,000 miles on its 4.2L straight six engine which is rated at 100 hp and 200 ft/lbs of torque. The transmission is a 4 speed manual, with a two speed manual transfercase.

My goal with the project is to get the Jeep running and prepped for plowing, towing and maybe some light off roading. Currently I am planning on switching the manual brakes to a vacuum assisted setup, installing 31" tires with new wheels, and updating the steering, brakes, exhaust and various other systems to bring the truck back to life. I will be updating this blog as things progress so keep an eye out for updates!!!!!
